I'm on a mission
When I was first diagnosed with my panic disorder, I was given a prescription for medication and a number to a therapist. I personally have an aversion to taking medication, and the hospital provided therapist was priced astronomically. 

I was willing to accept being medicated. Because my situation was unbearable as it was. 

But first… I wanted to exhaust every other option. I had a number for a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist that was recommended to me when my first panic attacks started happening. And I started to work with him. 

Within a few short weeks I had received the tools to manage my Panic Disorder and I had come up with new mental frameworks to assist with my anxiety.
A Hidden Gift
One of my strengths (and to many, I'm sure, a major weakness) is that I have a big mouth. 

What I mean by this is from the first moment that I had a panic attack, my friends knew about it. From my first meeting with a therapist, people that I was speaking with knew about it. 

There were no secrets. I didn’t hide anything. I didn’t have any shame about the situation. 

When I overcame my panic disorder and I shared what I went through with my network, dozens of people reached out saying they suffer from this too. They thanked me for sharing this vulnerability. I realized this was a much more common problem than I had thought. This is something that many people are afflicted with, and even worse, embarrassed about.
